                   TARA MAHAVIDYA


         Goddess Tara is the second of the Das Mahavidya. Tara, which means star, is seen as a beautiful but perpetually self-combusting. Hence Goddess Tara is perceived as the personification of unquenchable hunger that propels the life.

         Tara is the Goddess who offers ultimate knowledge and gives salvation and also known as Neel Saraswati. Her weapons are Khadga, Sword and pair of scissor.

         The origin of Tara Mahavidya is associated with Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean). Lord Shiva became unconscious after drinking "Halahala" (poison) coming out of Samudra Manthan. To recover him from this adverse situation, Tara Mata appeared in the form of Mother and fed him milk. Lord Shiva gain consciousness and poison became neutralized, as Maa absorbed the poison. Hence,  Lord Shiva and Tara Mahavidya came to be known as "Neelkantha", and "Neel Sarswati" respectively.


         In Tantra Sadhna of Dus Mahavidya Sasha consider Maa Tara Mahavidya to give immediate results to obtain, knowledge, power of speech, wisdom, pleasure and salvation. This Tara Mahavidya Sadhna evokes innumerable advantages of all round prosperity, expansion of business, name and fame. Destruction of enemies 
Which is realised instantly after accomplishment of the Sadhna.

        Ones Goddess Tara Mahavidya is pleased the all the aspirations if man gets fulfilled
